Aubrey Stoneking Art Teacher |
Education should embrace the WHOLE child! The artistic spark occurs at an early age. As teachers, we need to encourage and develop these "sparks". Through the artistic process and artwork in general, children can develop a strong sense of pride and self-esteem. Teachers are fundamental in helping students learn social skills, develop originality and be able to work with others as a team as well as individually. At the elementary level it is important for students to learn the elements and principles of design. Throughout the child's primary art experience, we will learn the basics of drawing, painting, and sculpture. As we progress to the secondary level, we will have the opportunity to experiment with many different mediums, breaking the boundaries of drawing painting and sculpture. |
