The ESOL (English for Speakers
of Other Languages) program is designed to provide culturally and
linguistically diverse students who are in the process of acquiring the
English language the support they require in order to eventually function
in a school setting without the aid of ESOL strategies and modifications.
My goal as an ESOL teacher is to better serve our students by meeting their individual emotional, social, cultural, and academic needs. By fully understanding, speaking, reading, and writing the English language, ESOL students do reach their ultimate goals. These goals include being mainstreamed in a regular classroom, integrating with native speaking students and academically functioning at appropriate grade levels.
